Welcome to Sugar Free Politics!  This is the first post for the Sugar Free blog and the focus is to give you a different view on current topics that you won't hear or read anywhere else.  Right off the bat I'm going to throw the bombshell out there....politics and the government impacts YOU!  

 

 That's right, all that bickering you see on political shows and all the stuff going on in DC really does impact our lives.  Taxes, healthcare, deficits, energy, immigration, Iran, congress, the President, etc. all impact you and I.  I never used to think so, I just thought political events were this weird reality TV show that really didn't matter to anyone but politicians.  During the 2000 presidential election I voted for the candidate I thought was the "coolest."  I bet there are a lot of people today that vote like I did.  Its not because of stupidity or lack of knowledge.  I think the problem is that when you watch any kind of political show or debate on TV, it doesn't really make much sense to the real Americans.  The question "what does this mean to me" is never answered.  In 2000, all the political discussion around the election sounded like the teacher in Charlie Brown.

  

After taking a more active interest and following the debates over the last few years, I came to the conclusion that America really needs a Sugar-Free version of the topics.  A version that makes it very clear to us how the topics can impact our life and answers the question "what does this mean to me."
